Festival of Japan, are hoping that all you artists and crafters out there might spare a few minutes to help us with our ongoing fund raising for the Children of Northern Japan.
In our current climate it’s hard to find more money to give to charities, despite the horrendous problems being suffered by the people in Northern Japan. So we came up with another idea! Most people have a piece of art or craft lying around in a draw somewhere. Well, here’s the plan.
- Find or create a piece of art, place the finished piece on a square of card 8x 8 inches.
- The work can be any size at all, as long as it does not exceed 8 x 8 inches.
- The choice of work is yours, embroidery, acrylics, beading etc etc.
- The squares will be displayed at all of the shows we attend throughout the year plus as many extra venues as possible.
- Each square will be given a number, tickets will be sold at each venue for £4 each.
- Everyone wins a square, so it’s win win
- You might get something from a top artist or a 6 year old, but your £4 will go a long way to putting smiles back on the faces of children in the Sendai area of Japan.
If you’re not at a show you can send in your £4.00 and we’ll choose one for you. This will then be sent by second class post.
Closing date for receipt of squares: ongoing for approximately 18 months
